Natural Disaster Magnets

A couple of weeks ago it was an earthquake. This week .. a hurricane. Chad and I thought that when we moved away from Miami that we left the hurricanes behind. But no. We wouldn’t be that lucky.

We are extremely lucky though that Boston, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, is okay. I’m sure many of you have been keeping up with the storm news and know that New York City and Atlantic City were blasted by this storm. I’m so grateful that Chad isn’t still in NYC working.

You can find great local coverage of the storm on Boston.com, NYTimes.com and PressOfAtlanticCity.com. Some light-hearted news of the storm can be found in this story on Instagram coverage. I noticed last night that there was tons of individual coverage on Tumblr as well.

To family, friends, and blog readers out there - please know that Chad, Dexter and I are safe. We are very lucky that the storm wasn’t worse than it was in our area. We are fortunate in that we are able to resume our lives as normal today. Please be sure to reach out to someone you know in one of the affected areas and see if there is anything you can do to lend a helping hand.

If you’re wondering how you can help those who have been affected by this disaster, one way that I can recommend is by donating to the American Red Cross
