Winks And Whistles

Boston Book Festival

On Saturday I did something I’ve been wanting/meaning to do since we moved to New England .. attend the Boston Book Festival. I decided to attend the What’s Next For Women? event, featuring Hanna Rosin, Anita Hill and Madeleine Kunin (all pictured from left to right). I had just finished Rosin’s book The End Of Men And The Rise Of Women the night before, so I was especially excited to see her.

It was a packed lecture hall at the Boston Public Library .. mostly women and a few men sprinkled throughout the audience. Hanna Rosin was just as fabulous as I thought she would be. She’s smart, insightful and someone I want to be when I grow up. Anita Hill is so smart and put together and has a great sense of humor. As someone who’s first thought always goes to the Clarence Thomas scandal when her name is mentioned, it was really easy to forget that when listening to her speak. And Madeleine Kunin is just amazing. I want her to adopt me as her granddaughter and take me under her wing .. teach me all that she has learned in hopes that I’ll be just as successful and inspiring as her.

And, of course now I have Hill’s and Kunin’s books on my “to read” list. That list only keeps on getting longer.
