Yayoi Kusama
On my last trip to NYC, I made a point to go to the Whitney Museum to see a retrospective of Yayoi Kusama’s work. I hadn’t heard of her until recently, when I saw a segment on her on Sunday Morning. She had a really interesting life story that helped a lot for me when I actually viewed her work .. understanding it a lot more than I would have had I just viewed it without some history, some back story. I am definitely more fond of her more recent work. There’s just something about her use of colors and repetition that I really like.
