Back To The Honeymoon: Carcassonne

Can I just say how much I’m loving putting together these honeymoon posts after the honeymoon? It’s just so much fun and brings back all of these great memories. We just had the best time.
As we got further south in our French road trip, we reached Carcassonne - a lovely little place that has a lot Spanish influence because of its proximity to the country. I was especially grateful for this Spanish influence during lunch when we happened upon a place that had the most delicious Spanish and Mediterranean food. It was a nice break from all of the very French (but always delicious!) food that we’d been eating.
Within Carcassonne is La Cite - a medieval fortified/walled city complete with a castle and drawbridge - so cool. Chad, of course, was in heaven. Stuff like this really gets him excited.
It was a really fun (and hot!) afternoon for us. I feel really lucky that we were able to visit so many historical sites in France.
