A Stateside Date Night
A couple of nights after returning from our honeymoon, Chad and I took our first date night out back in the states. We went to the Boston Common to see a performance of Shakespeare’s play Coriolanus.
Every summer, there are free performances of a Shakespeare play on the Boston Common for a few weeks. We always try to make it every summer. Who wouldn’t want to picnic on a nice summer’s evening while enjoying a good performance?
Since it was just a couple of days after we got back from France, we raided Whole Food’s prepared foods section because the only things we had in our fridge were eggs, hummus and almond milk. We also brought with us a bottle of clairet that we brought back from Bordeaux - the perfect summer picnic wine.
It was a great low-key date night. And the play was really good too. I hadn’t ever heard of this one and it was nice to be introduced to one of Shakespeare’s lesser known works.
