Book Club Goes Crazy For Wild
Our most recent book club selection was Wild - From Lost To Found On The Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed.
I can confidently say that it was everyone’s favorite book club pick so far in our short history of meeting. It was amazing.
Wild is a memoir that follows one woman’s journey of repairing her life that fell apart in so many ways after the death of her mother. Strayed spent three months backpacking the Pacific Crest Trail alone and her story is just incredible.
I’m kind of a sucker for memoirs to begin with. And I loved Eat Pray Love. But let me tell you - Strayed’s book blows Elizabeth Gilbert’s out of the water.
I can’t wait to read more of Strayed’s stuff. And of course, the book club is now trying to plan our own backpacking trek for sometime next year.
A highlight of the night - Sarah hosted, served us all tacos and made sure there was plenty of beer to drink. How cute does she look in that apron?
We don’t know what we’re reading yet next. But we’re all hoping for nice weather so we can have it outdoors.
