A couple of weekends ago, Chad and I visited Southwest Virginia and scoured wedding venues for hours and hours. We looked at bed and breakfasts, a winery and even a hotel (although I didn’t want to at first). After an exhausting day of driving - there was so much driving - we decided on Rockwood Manor, a historic B&B in Dublin, Virginia.
Rockwood Manor is actually where my friend, Melissa, got married two weekends ago. What can I say? The girl has good taste.
It’s a gorgeous old, historic home with lots of character that sits on nearly 70 acres. There are really charming, old fashioned things (for lack of a better word) that dot the property, like a wonderful red barn, an old gas pump and tractors that probably haven’t been used in decades. And the great part about this venue is we get the B&B for the whole weekend, and we’re going to ask the whole wedding party to stay with us there. Because, I mean, why wouldn’t we want them all there with us?
Oh - I almost forgot to tell you - we have a date! July 7, 2012. Whoa! This is really happening!
