Watch Out For Crazy Dog Lady
I’m sure we all do some kind of wacky things when we’re bored. I recently narrated a story about Dexter on Instagram. Yes, I think I’m turning into a crazy dog lady.
What? You’re dying to see Dexter’s short, if not memorable, Instagram story. Well, here it is:
It’s a lazy Sunday and Dexter’s a little sad. Why?
Because the monkey stole his bone.

Walking Is My New Running
I know I’ve talked about the Healthy Tipping Point blog before in my Weekly Web Favorites posts. I was turned on to this blog by Jaime who alerted me to The Naked Face Project.
The reason I’ve stuck with this blog is because the author, Caitlin, is so easy to relate to. I’d like to think that if we lived nearby that we’d be friends. She’s a young, successful woman....

Weekly Web Favorites
Whoa! It’s Sunday already and I’m kind of wishing for another Saturday and Sunday pronto. I could definitely use them. This has been another wedding planning weekend - more registry stuff and working on the actual wording/flow of the ceremony, which is actually kind of fun. You start thinking about the words that will be spoken by you, your partner, the officiant and possibly others...

Hello Puffy Pancake
Last week I was catching up on one of my favorite blogs - Rockstar Diaries - and came across this posting where she talks about making a puffed pancake. I knew immediately that I had to try this for myself.
Here’s the puffy pancake I made myself for a late breakfast yesterday morning.
It was amazing. For realz. I used this recipe and then topped it with confectioner’s sugar and...

Flashback Friday! Halloween: Miami Style
For those of you that don’t know, I spent a very memorable 5 years living in Miami. Miami is where I met Chad, finally earned my undergraduate degree and spent many a Halloween working in the restaurant/bar industry.
This was my lazy costume. Throw on a pair of Romeo + Juliet (Baz Luhrmann) inspired wings and call it a shift. Picutred with Karl, who loves dressing up in drag for...

I Fired My Veterinarian
An exhausted Dexter laying in my lap.
I think that knowing when to let go is a skill that I haven’t quite mastered yet. But I feel like I made a step in the right direction when I fired Dexter’s vet this week.
It was a routine checkup. I drop him off early in the morning and get a call a few hours later to pick him up. No biggie....

A Fashion Blogger, I Am Not
However … that has not stopped me from forming a little habit of capturing my outfits time and again and posting them on Instagram. What can I say? I have a little bit of an obsession with Instagram.
A hand-me-down sweater from Chad that is super comfy.
An autumnal outfit in the winter.
My rainy day, errand running getup.
A Saturday afternoon, friend date ensemble.
You can...

Book Club Takes On Chelsea Handler
Book club convened over the weekend and again, it did not disappoint. This month we discussed Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me, which is a collection of essays from Handler’s friends about all of these ridiculous lies she tells them as practical jokes.
It seemed like most of the book club really enjoyed the book and Handler’s outrageous antics. A couple (or maybe just one) were...

My Life Lately According To Instagram
This is one of my favorite spots at Fresh Pond Reservation. It’s up on this hill and feels kind of like a secret place.
Dexter is the best nap buddy.
I may have requested a few too many books from the library at the same time.
My sister, Nicole, sent me this and said she thought of me. I’m not sure what Instagram account she found this from, but it made me smile.
This...

Weekly Web Favorites
This weekend I have not shut myself in with wedding duties. Hooray! Although, I do need to get back to filling out that registry. I had the best afternoon out with friends yesterday. Hooray to having awesome, smart and funny girlfriends!
Here are some of my favorites finds from the web this week:
I adore these bookmarks.
My mouth started watering when I read these words: Cake Batter...

Perfect Breakfast Sandwich
There’s nothing like a tasty breakfast sandwich and I’ve finally figured out the perfect one for me. It’s inspired by the oh-so-tasty breakfast sandwiches at Flour Bakery + Cafe. Here’s how I do it:
And voila! Let me know if you try it. I only use half a bagel because I find that way it leaves more room for me to eat some fruit for breakfast too. Also, I...

Flashback Friday! Junior Prom: Part 2
Imagine my surprise when I came across even more pictures from my junior prom. Absolute glee I tell you! I was especially excited when I found these pictures of Melissa and myself trying on dresses. Melissa looks like such a princess in both of these dresses. And I didn’t end up getting any of the ones I tried on.

Surprise Valentine
This was the year of the surprise Valentine. Both an unexpected one for me and an unexpected one from me. Surprise valentine’s are the best, right? Surprise anythings are the best, really.
A few months ago in the mail, Chad and I received these large stickers of New England Revolution players with Benny Feilhaber among them. I knew immediately that I had to make something for my sister,...

Valentine's Day At Home
I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine’s Day. My was pretty laid back and well … just perfect. It really varies from year to year, what Chad and I do. Sometimes we don’t do anything. Others we go out. This year, we opted to stay in.
Early in the morning, I snuck out to Chad’s car and delivered a Valentine with some Nerds (one of his favorite candies). Chad’s a big...

Dairy Free 7-Layer Dip
I made two things for mine and Chad’s intimate (just the two us) Super Bowl party: pizza and 7-layer dip. Both were dairy free. I’m sure most of you are familiar with 7-layer dip and know some version of it. Being the person who makes the majority of the food between the two of us, I’m constantly trying to figure out how to make old favorites dairy free and still tasty. I...

Weekly Web Favorites
I recently got to a write a fun article on what local bakeries are offering for Valentine’s Day treats. One of the bakeries I visited actually sent me home with some treats, which I was very excited about. Are you doing anything special for Valentine’s Day? I have an idea or two up my sleeve for the fiancé.
Here are my favorite web finds of the week, including some Valentine’s...

Flashback Friday! Swinging From The Trees!
While in high school, my friends and I found this great spot to go swinging from a tree. Yes - tree swinging. Um … that’s what I’m calling it. And we tree swung right into the river. It was so much fun. I was really nervous about it beforehand, but it was one of those things where you’re so glad you did it in the end. You know … pushed yourself when you were scared. I...

My Life Lately ... According To Instagram
My hiking boots have really come in handy for those muddy dog walks.
I think that morning’s breakfast consisted of buttered toast, hot chocolate and eggs, sunny side up.
Dexter’s always so happy when he gets to play in the morning.
I love the artwork in my Whole Foods calendar. February’s makes me wish I was visiting friends in Miami and laying on the beach.

Weekly Web Favorites
While on the beach in New Hampshire last weekend, I couldn’t resist picking up this branch and pretending like I was a great and noble woodland creature with my own set of antlers. Doing that actually made me think it might be fun to make some sort of crazy, outlandish headdress.
Here are my favorite web finds of the week:
I just love this gift idea. Maybe I can do something like this...

Extreme Couponing: Midnight Madness
Do you think we should take the hairspray with us?
Yes. Is that even a question?
This was my favorite thing said during TLC’s Extreme Couponing special Midnight Madness. It brought me back to my elementary school days with feathered bangs when I always carried a bottle of White Rain hairspray (OMG! It still exists!) in my backpack. It was applied at...

Flashback Friday! Junior Prom Edition
Remember when I made my 30 Before 30 list of things to accomplish before that big birthday? One of my items was to scan every single photo I had in an album. Wow, was I naive. In case you were wondering, not a single picture got scanned.
But now, in an attempt to actually make a digital copy of all of my hard copy pictures, I’ve come up with a new weekly blog post - Flashback Friday. This...

Wedding Shoes
Finding the “perfect” wedding shoes has been kind of a challenge. I wanted to wear something with a heel, but nothing that was too high. I wanted to be at least moderately comfortable for most of the evening. I also wanted something in-between formal and not. It’s a summer wedding, so I also wanted my feet to be able to breathe. So, I was thinking something sandal-y/strappy. Oh,...

Pimm's Cup
I have a new favorite cocktail - Pimm’s Cup. Have you ever had one? I received this bottle of Pimm’s for my 30th birthday and just popped it open this last weekend. I brought it with me to Cara’s birthday weekend in New Hampshire and made Pimm’s Cups for most everybody. It was a big hit.
My Pimm’s Cup is slightly different from the traditional cocktail, but...
